Lonestar's Nights are Big and Bright - Cab Franc Wine

Texas was built by men and women who embodied descarado attitudes and lived mythical lives.  Descarado translated into English means brazen, brash, brassy and cheeky.  The roots of the Texas Longhorn go back to the late 1400s when they were brought to the Texas frontier by the Spanish conquistadors.  During the Civil War, the unattended longhorns proliferated.  By 1865, 5 to 6 million unbranded longhorns resided in Texas.  Civil War veterans rounded up these animals and branded them to start herds.  The easily identifiable bovine weighs between an average of 1200 pounds and has a horn spread of 4 to 7 feet.  Driven north during the great trail drives of the 1860’s to 1880’s, longhorns remain symbols of the old west.   Descarado Wines honors our Texas history by hand crafting our wines to capture the brazen and brash culture of our great state.
